Vanderbilt’s Week 0 matchup against Hawaii has a tentative start time after lightning delayed the initial start time of 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Commodores and Rainbow Warriors will now kickoff at 9:10, though more lightning could always push that start time even further back.

It’s safe to say the two teams’ seasons are not off to a sunny start.

Fans evacuated the stadium just over an hour ago after lightning was detected in the area. According to management policy, the game will be suspended whenever lightning is detected within 8 miles of the stadium. From there, play will be resumed after 30 minutes of no detected lightning strikes within 8 miles.

With the game not having started yet, teams were allotted 50 minutes to warm up on the field once given the all clear from lightning.

If they can avoid lightning for the rest of the night, the matchup between the Commodores and Rainbow Warriors should be a fun one.
