Will Sheppard has been a 4-year player for Vanderbilt and a key contributor for the Commodores in 3 straight seasons. Now, he’s on the move after entering the transfer portal.

On Thursday, Sheppard revealed a commitment to Colorado to play for head coach Deion Sanders. The Buffs are still looking for a turnaround under Coach Prime after a 4-8 record during the 2023 season.

This season, Sheppard led Vanderbilt with 684 receiving yards and 8 receiving touchdowns to finish an impressive 4-year stretch with the Commodores. Sheppard’s career numbers include 152 catches for 2,067 yards and 21 touchdowns, finishing near the top of Vanderbilt’s all-time list in multiple categories. He also served as a punt returner each of the past two seasons.

This past season, Xavier Weaver led Colorado in receiving, but he will be out of eligibility entering 2024. The addition of Sheppard gives the Buffs a legitimate target to go with a talented group that includes Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr. and Dylan Edwards.
