Postseason games are set and the SEC’s expected to dominate.

RELATED: SEC favored in 11 of 12 games

Here’s how we rank the bowl season’s best matchups involving SEC teams:

1. Ole Miss vs. TCU (Chick-fil-A Peach): This New Year’s Eve matinee in Atlanta has all the trimmings of what promises to be a spectacular game pitting one of the nation’s top teams against an SEC foe with momentum following an impressive Egg Bowl victory. TCU has one of the nation’s deadliest passing offenses and we all know about Mississippi’s stout secondary. The Rebels were expected to slide out of the New Year’s Six, but late movement in the final Playoff rankings paved the way for a top-tier berth. If there’s one game to attend as a fan this bowl season, this one’s it under the lights inside the Georgia Dome.

2. Alabama vs. Ohio State (Sugar): Certainly the most anticipated SEC bowl game is Alabama’s semifinal tilt with Ohio State, coached by former Florida coach and two-time BCS champion Urban Meyer. To no one’s surprise, the SEC’s representative in the first College Football Playoff is a program that’s won three national titles since 2009.

3. Arkansas vs. Texas (Texas): Officials in the Lone Star State lobbied for this rivalry that fell into place in the final hour, Bret Bielema vs. Charlie Strong in Houston. As far as 6-6 head-to-heads go, you won’t find a more exciting game.

4. Mississippi State vs. Georgia Tech (Orange): Could the triple option-based Yellow Jackets take out another Top 10 team from the SEC? For five weeks this season, Mississippi State was unbeaten and ranked No. 1 in the country, the frontrunner for a league title and Playoff bid. The Bulldogs’ season took a turn at Alabama before the season-ending Egg Bowl loss smashed Playoff hopes. The SEC vs. ACC angle is always interesting during bowl season.

5. Auburn vs. Wisconsin (Outback): Tampa passed on Georgia in favor of the four-loss Tigers, a team that comes into the postseason having lost three of its last four games. Two stars to watch are Nick Marshall, an early-season Heisman candidate, and Wisconsin tailback Melvin Gordon, a likely finalist. Gordon’s streak of 10 consecutive 100-yard games was snapped in Saturday’s 59-0 Big Ten Championship loss to Ohio State.

6. LSU vs. Notre Dame (Music City): An underrated game in Nashville features two storied programs, one that struggled down the stretch, specifically at quarterback. Everett Golson, a senior from Myrtle Beach, S.C. who was once a Heisman contender, was bitten by the turnover bug after the Irish’s 6-0 start. He’s thrown eight interceptions over his last five games.

7. Texas A&M vs. West Virginia (Liberty): The only game in which the SEC’s not favored this season, expect a ton of points in Memphis when these two offenses take the field.

8. Mizzou vs. Minnesota (Citrus): After three SEC New Year’s Six bids were handed out by the selection committee, Orlando had its pick of several upper-tier teams including Georgia, Auburn and LSU but ultimately went with the 10-win Tigers. The Eastern Division champs played Alabama closer than the final score indicated in Saturday’s SEC Championship Game and it’s quite refreshing to see another East team not named South Carolina or Georgia in Central Florida.

9. Georgia vs. Louisville (Belk): A sea of red invades the Queen City on Dec. 30 highlighted by Nick Chubb vs. a stingy Louisville defense. Bobby Petrino gets a crack at an SEC East foe that’s hoping to bounce back from a disappointing loss its last time out. Mark Richt is 8-5 in bowl games as Georgia’s head coach.

10. Florida vs. East Carolina (Birmingham): Interim Florida coach D.J. Durkin will have to put together a solid defensive gameplan to unseat the eight-win Pirates, a team built on the Air Raid through program record-setting quarterback Shane Carden. Before last week’s Hail Mary loss to Central Florida, East Carolina was in line for a more prestigious bowl bid and at one point this season, thought it could sneak into the New Year’s Six before things unraveled.

11. South Carolina vs. Miami (Independence): Can the Gamecocks and their 13th-ranked rush defense in the SEC slow down Duke Johnson and the Hurricanes’ impressive running game? Miami hasn’t won a bowl game since 2006 and this is the first meeting between the two programs since 1987 (South Carolina Orange Bowl win). A matchup pitting 6-6 teams, it could be worse.

12. Tennessee vs. Iowa (TaxSlayer): Tennessee’s first postseason trip since 2010 comes against one of the nation’s better defenses under coack Kirk Ferentz. Tennessee’s 3-2 in the Gator Bowl all-time. The Liberty Bowl in Memphis wanted the Vols for obvious reasons, but Tennessee gets a better payout and battles a stronger opponent with its trek to Jacksonville.
