SEC PLAYER SUSPENSIONS

ALABAMA — Bo Scarbrough, RB (4 games): Suspended a quarter of the regular season for what Nick Saban labeled an ‘NCAA amateurism issue’, Scarbrough won’t be available to the end of September. That gives the five-star freshman tailback even more time to rehab his surgically-repaired right knee.

ARKANSAS — C.J. O’Grady, TE (indefinitely); Blake Johnson, P (indefinitely); JoJo Robinson (first half): Arrested on a DWI charge, O’Grady was the first of two Hogs to receive an indefinite suspension for weekend troubles. Johnson’s sidelined following a public intoxication charge after urinating on a light pole. Robinson won’t play in the first half against UTEP for what Bret Bielema called a summer issue.

FLORIDA — Marcus Maye, DB; Alex McCalister, DE; Latroy Pittman, WR: Jim McElwain’s sitting two starters and a player who was fighting for a first-team nod at wideout for Saturday’s opener against New Mexico State for violating team rules.

KENTUCKY — Jason Hatcher, LB (2 games); Kyle Meadows, OL; C.J. Johnson, DL: Hatcher was suspended in early August due to a violation of team rules. Coach Mark Stoops announced the other two players’ suspensions on Monday during his game week presser previewing Louisiana Lafayette. He didn’t go into specifics.

TENNESSEE — Pig Howard, WR: Involved in something ‘several months back’ according to Butch Jones, the punishment comes now for the senior slot receiver. Officially, it’s a violation of team rules.
