While we may not have Steve Spurrier on the sidelines this season, the Ole Ball Coach appears to be considering a transition to a role that’s sure to have SEC football fans excited this fall.

As if the upcoming season could get any more hype, the former South Carolina and Florida head football coach is currently in talks with the SEC Network to join the network’s coverage of SEC football, according to Josh Kendall of The State.

“We have tentatively discussed getting together to talk,” Spurrier said Monday, “but I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet, but hope to do something constructive and productive. I have seen people who don’t do anything, and that doesn’t work. Hopefully, I will get involved in something here in about a month or so.”

Judging by those statements, Spurrier move to an analyst role is not a slam dunk at this time but it’s good to know the move is at least in preliminary discussions. If there’s one thing Spurrier is known for outside of his Hall of Fame coaching ability, it’s his status as “Mouth of the South” following one amazing quote after another throughout the years.
