The best college football conference in the country is also the highest-paying one. Nine of the SEC’s 14 head coaches are scheduled to earn $4 million this season.

Every coach in the SEC West will be part of that club in 2016. Meanwhile, Florida’s Jim McElwain and Tennessee’s Butch Jones are the East’s $4 million-dollar men.

Ten SEC coaches made at least $4 mil last year, including Steve Spurrier, Gary Pinkel and Mark Richt, who are no longer in the conference. Jones and McElwain received offseason raises to join the group.

At least 21 FBS head coaches are scheduled to make $4 million or more this season, according to coachingsearch.com. That’s up from 12 in 2014 and none in 2007.
