In July, Nebraska punter Sam Foltz — whilst attending a punting camp — was killed in a car accident. It was an event that completely shook up the football team and the community of Lincoln.

During Saturday’s season-opening contest between Nebraska and Fresno St., the Cornhuskers offered a very touching tribute to their deceased punter.

Nebraska was faced with a fourth-down situation. The Cornhuskers sent 10 players out on the field — with no punter in place for the punt. Mike Riley’s team took a delay of game penalty — which was then classily declined by the Bulldogs.

Credit both Nebraska and Fresno St. for this incredibly special moment.
