Week 4 SEC commits’ highlights: Alabama RB prospect hurdles defender
Every week throughout the season, we’ll provide some video highlights of the SEC’s top commits.
SEC COMMITS
Najee Harris, RB, five-star Alabama commit (Antioch, Ca.)
Harris possesses that blend of burst, size and speed seen in only a handful of running backs each year, which is why he’s the No. 1 overall recruit in 2017.
Oh, and he can hurdle guys too.

Did we mention he’s not too bad at tackling either?

The 6-foot-3, 226-pound back had a pedestrian game statistically (by his lofty standards), rushing for 132 yards and a touchdown on 32 attempts as Antioch fell to De La Salle 28-21 in a game televised on ESPNU last Friday night. But Harris had a few big runs negated by penalties, including this 47-yard touchdown rumble.

Antioch's Najee Harris rushed for 132 yards and one TD, but 80+ yards were nullified due to penalties.

Harris finally scored from four yards out to make it 28-21 with just more than six minutes left in the fourth quarter, but it went down as Antioch’s final touchdown of the night.

OrTre Smith, WR, four-star South Carolina commit (Mount Pleasant, S.C.)
Will Muschamp is fighting several recruiting battles as he seeks to rebuild South Carolina, and he recently took care of business in his backyard.
Smith — the No. 1 prospect in the state of South Carolina — committed to the Gamecocks on Sept. 11, giving Muschamp his 22nd commit and boosting the class to No. 11 nationally. Smith recorded a touchdown and an interception in Wando’s 28-14 win against Stratford last Friday night, flashing his size and athleticism on both plays.

Not only do scouts and coaches admire his talents on the field, but he also has the respect of his peers as a person.
OrTre' Smith named Wando Homecoming King … Anyone surprised?

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Smith is rated as the 16th best receiver in the nation and the No. 129 player overall. He is one of six four-star prospects in South Carolina’s 2017 recruiting class.
Kellen Mond, QB, four-star Texas A&M commit (Bradenton, Fla.)
Texas A&M will have the services of Trevor Knight for only one year. Fortunately for the Aggies, they’ve got a pretty good quarterback coming their way next season.
Mond threw three touchdown passes and ran for another as IMG Academy beat Boyd Anderson 38-0 last Friday night. He’s now only one touchdown away from tying the school’s single-season scoring record set by former IMG quarterback Shea Patterson, last year’s top quarterback recruit.
His passing touchdowns were from 1, 2 and 16 yards out, and he showed the skill that has earned him designation as the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in 2017 on a 14-yard scoring scramble.
The No. 84 overall prospect in this year’s recruiting class committed to Texas A&M in June and still stands as the school’s highest-rated player in this cycle. The elusive 6-foot-2, 201-pounder should be a great fit in Kevin Sumlin’s spread offense.
