One of the nation’s top quarterback prospects in the 2019 recruiting cycle will likely have a familiar name to many Auburn fans, as in-state recruit Bo Nix has strong ties to the Plains — his father is former Auburn quarterback Patrick Nix. Nix was Auburn’s starter during the undefeated 1993 season and now coaches his son at Pinson Valley in Pinson, Alabama.

While Ole Miss was the first SEC school to offer a scholarship to Bo Nix, Auburn quickly followed suit and was joined by Tennessee, Florida State, and Ohio State. More recently, Alabama joined in, as Nix tweeted the news of the Tide’s scholarship offer.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Nix currently ranks as the nation’s No. 2 dual-threat quarterback for 2019 and Alabama’s No. 2 overall prospect, according to 247Sports. The site also lists Nix as the nation’s No. 85 overall prospect. Nix’s recruitment should be one of the biggest storylines inside the state in the coming seasons, if not the nation, should he continue to rise in the recruiting rankings.

Judging by his ability to run, his speed, and more impressively his accuracy on the run, it’s easy to see why Nix is so coveted despite having two seasons of high school football left to play. His recruitment will certainly be one to keep an eye on over the next two seasons.
