A heartbreaking video on Saturday that captured Knoxville-area middle schooler Keaton Jones’ personal dealings with bullies went viral.

It has since drawn attention — and tons of support for Jones — all across the United States from famous celebrities and athletes.

On Monday, Horace Maynard Middle School (Maynardville, Union County, Tenn.) — which is the middle school Jones attends — commented on the situation.

The school has been blasted on social media with outcries for it to do more about the alleged bullying going on in its school.

Principal Greg Clay said he wasn’t aware of Jones being repeatedly bullied, according to a report from Rachel Ohm of the Knoxville News Sentinel.

The principal also apparently noted that the incident described in the video had been resolved weeks ago.

“It’s not as rampant as the video would have you believe,” Clay said. “I can’t tell you what was done, but I can tell you action was taken with the children.”

The school was reportedly planning to hold an assembly on Monday to address bullying with students, the principal said. Clay also noted that an anti-bullying talk has been planned for January.

“We’re having a good school year,” Clay said. “I’m sorry it’s like this. We all sympathize with Keaton and we’re doing everything we can to make sure it never happens again. Everybody saw the video and it was horrible. We don’t want anyone to feel like that. Keaton’s a good kid. We’ll take care of him.”
