SEC announces weekly awards for Week 11 of 2024 season
SEC baseball teams have completed 11 weeks of the season, with the final month of regular-season action starting up in the next few days. On Monday, the conference recognized 3 of the top performers from another full week of SEC baseball action.
Player of the Week: Justin Lebron, Alabama
Lebron had the best week at the plate in the SEC with 10 hits. Alabama went 3-1, getting a midweek win over Samford and taking 2-of-3 on the road at Ole Miss.
Lebron had 5 extra-base hits over the week. He led Alabama in home runs (3), total bases (21) and runs (9), while tying for the team lead in RBI (9).
A freshman from Miramar, Florida, Lebron is posting a triple slash of .354 AVG/.438 OBP/.585 SLG. He has 58 hits on the season, including 5 doubles with 11 home runs, notching 33 RBIs. He has also walked 15 times and been hit by pitch 12 times.

Pitcher of the Week: Bryce Cunningham, Vanderbilt
Cunningham tossed a complete game shutout for Vanderbilt on Friday against Mississippi State. The right-hander notched 4 strikeouts in his 2-hit outing over 122 pitches.
Despite Cunningham’s stellar start, the Commodores could not secure the series win. MSU evened the series with a 7-4 win Saturday and won Sunday’s rubber game 8-7 in Nashville.
Cunningham leads Vanderbilt in innings with 61 over 11 starts this season. He has 3.98 ERA, with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 76-21.

Freshman of the Week: Caden Sorrell, Texas A&M
Sorrell had a productive week for the Aggies. He led the way for Texas A&M posting a .538 batting average and notching 4 RBI, hitting 2 doubles and a triple. He also got on 4 times via base on balls and recorded a steal.
In midweek action against Houston, Sorrell was 4-for-4, just a home run short of the cycle. He had a 3-for-3 game with 3 RBIs in Texas A&M’s comeback win over Georgia.
For the season, Sorrell is slashing .302/.400/.604 with 5 home runs, 6 doubles and 28 RBIs. He leads the SEC with 4 triples. Since becoming a starter on March 23, he has hit .316.
