They’ll both be remembered as SEC greats and for two seasons they were teammates.

Former Tennessee TE Jason Witten informed the Dallas Cowboys Thursday that he is retiring. Witten is reportedly hanging up his cleats to join ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast.

In his career, Witten hauled in 1,152 receptions as a Cowboy. The last two seasons, more than 100 of those passes came from Dak Prescott. In each of Prescott’s first two seasons, Witten was one of his top three targets.

The Bulldog great shared an awesome social media tribute to Witten upon learning of his retirement, calling the tight end one of his idols and someone who set an example of what it takes to succeed on and off the field. Prescott even offers Witten the praise of “GOAT” (greatest of all time).
