The SEC consistently churns out some of the best running backs to make their way to the NFL, and the league is certainly loaded with former SEC stars right now.

On Thursday, NFL.com analyst Maurice Jones-Drew, himself a former NFL star, ranked the 10 best runners in the league right now. Unsurprisingly, four SEC backs made the cut.

Pittsburgh’s Le’Veon Bell takes the No. 1 spot on the list, followed by the first SEC back in ex-Georgia RB Todd Gurley II. Below, you can see where the other SEC runners ranked:

  • No. 2 — Todd Gurley II, Los Angeles Rams
  • No. 6 — Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints
  • No. 9 — Leonard Fournette, Jacksonville Jaguars
  • No. 10 — Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

This year, guys like Georgia’s Sony Michel (Round 1) and Nick Chubb (Round 2), LSU’s Derrius Guice (Round 2) and Auburn’s Kerryon Johnson (Round 2) are entering their rookie seasons.

By this time next offseason, those guys could be among the top 10 runners in the NFL, too.
