Unless you’ve just awakened for a decade-long coma, you know all about Alabama’s dominance since Nick Saban’s arrival in Tuscaloosa. Not only have the Crimson Tide dominated the SEC standings far more often than not during that time, there appears to be no end in sight to what Saban’s program is capable of achieving under his watch.

One look at the league standings since the conference expanded to 14 teams does arguably the best job of displaying that, as Alabama has gone 43-5 in regular season conference games since 2012. The next best record in the league is Georgia at 34-14, which was produced that mark thanks to the combined efforts of Mark Richt and Kirby Smart. Considering Richt was shown the door despite his success at Georgia, a decision many questioned at the time, it sure looks like the leadership in Athens made the right based on UGA’s success in 2017.

Those are just some of the observations one could make by looking over this list of league records since 2012.

The near equal record of cross-divisional opponents LSU and Florida stands out upon initial viewing. Auburn’s league mark is close to Mississippi State but you can’t put that completely on Gus Malzahn’s shoulders, as the Tigers went 0-8 in 2012 which played a major factor in the former Arkansas State coach returning to The Plains.

Egg Bowl rivals Mississippi State and Ole Miss are within two games of each other during this period, while the once-proud Tennessee program finds itself below programs like South Carolina, Ole Miss and Missouri and with the same SEC record as in-state rival Vanderbilt.
