Multiple SEC quarterbacks are seen as preseason Heisman Trophy candidates. If the season goes as oddsmakers see it, more than one signal-caller from the conference could be packing their bags for New York City come December.

Nick Saban has not yet named Tua Tagovailoa or Jalen Hurts as Alabama’s starting quarterback, but that hasn’t stopped Tagovailoa from becoming the betting favorite to win the Trophy at online sportsbook Bovada. Here are the odds for the top five candidates:

  • Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa +600
  • Wisconsin RB Johnathan Taylor +800
  • Stanford RB Bryce Love +850
  • Georgia QB Jake Fromm +1500
  • Arizona QB Khalil Tate +1500

Bovada also has odds for Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham (+2200), Georgia RB D’Andre Swift (+3000), Missouri QB Drew Lock (+3300) and Alabama RB Damien Harris (+4500).

A few familiar faces who transferred out of the SEC also show up in the early odds such as West Virginia QB Will Grier (+1500), Michigan QB Shea Patterson (+1800) and Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray (+2000).

The plus value indicates amount won a $100 bet.

Tagovailoa is also the favorite in Intertops’ odds.
