Mark Richt resigns as Miami's head coach, releases statement
The Miami Hurricanes had a rough year this year, finishing a disappointing 7-6 after starting the season as a top-10 squad.
In the recent Pinstripe Bowl, the Hurricanes were trounced 35-3 by a Wisconsin team that was playing a backup quarterback.
Now, on Sunday, after the disappointing campaign, head coach Mark Richt has resigned his post:

Richt was 26-13 during his three years at his alma mater, but the Hurricanes had title expectations and he never met them.
Prior to Miami, Richt coached for 15 seasons at Georgia, amassing an impressive 145-51 record. Who the Hurricanes hire to replace him remains to be seen, but it’s sure to be a highly sought-after job.
