7 SEC players named to AP's All-Bowl Team
Now that every bowl game has been played and only the College Football Playoff national title game remains, the Associated Press has named its annual All-Bowl Team.
Considering the performance the SEC had in bowls, going 6-5 in 11 games so far (with Alabama having a chance to make it 7-5), it’s no surprise that seven players landed on the squad.
As you can see below, Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa headlines the group, but the Kentucky Wildcats got two players on the list:
- Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
- Ke’Shawn Vaughn, RB, Vanderbilt
- Trayveon Williams, RB, Texas A&M
- Rashard Lawrence, DL, LSU
- Josh Allen, LB, Kentucky
- Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, DB, Florida
- Lynn Bowden, PR, Kentucky
Many of those players will be turning pro after this season, but at least a couple of them will be back, with a couple yet to make their decisions.
Playing well in bowl games is a great way to make a name for yourself, and that’s exactly what these guys did.
