The SEC and the ACC share the record for most first-round NFL Draft picks. The ACC set the mark in 2006 with 12. In 2013, a newly expanded SEC came along and tied that number. The latest mock draft from CBS Sports has the conference record falling in the 2019 draft.

In the projection by Chris Trapasso, not only will the SEC hit lucky number 13, but the conference will squeeze in one more pick and make it 14. Trapasso has Kentucky edge rusher Josh Allen getting it all started as the No. 1 overall pick going to the Arizona Cardinals:

  • No. 1: Arizona Cardinals – Josh Allen (Kentucky)
  • No. 3: New York Jets – Quinnen Williams (Alabama)
  • No. 5: Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Greedy Williams (LSU)
  • No. 6: New York Giants – Jonah Williams (Alabama)
  • No. 7: Jacksonville Jaguars – Jeffery Simmons (Mississippi State)
  • No. 12: Green Bay Packers – Jachai Polite (Florida)
  • No. 15: Washington Redskin – Drew Lock (Missouri)
  • No. 16: Carolina Panthers – Jawaan Taylor (Florida)
  • No. 17: Cleveland Browns – D.K. Metcalf (Ole Miss)
  • No. 19: Tennessee Titans – Montez Sweat (Mississippi State)
  • No. 20: Pittsburgh Steelers – Deandre Baker (Georgia)
  • No. 22: Baltimore Ravens – Devin White (LSU)
  • No. 23: Houston Texans – Greg Little (Ole Miss)
  • No. 26: Indianapolis Colts – A.J. Brown (Ole Miss)

While there will be lots of mock drafts from now up until the draft itself, things are liking to change after the NFL Scouting Combine. Do you think the 2019 class is a record-setting group?
