Former Notre Dame RB Cierre Wood finds himself in serious legal trouble on Wednesday after the death of a child.

Per a report from ABC57, Wood was arrested in Las Vegas and faces charges of abuse after the death of his girlfriend’s 5-year-old daughter.

The report states that Wood’s girlfriend, Amy Taylor, also faces abuse charges stemming from the child’s death.

Wood is set to appear in court on Thursday morning. An autopsy is going to be conducted on the child as well.

Wood played three years for the Fighting Irish, including in 2012, when Notre Dame lost to Alabama in the National Championship Game. He ran for only two yards on four carries in that game.
