Since opening in 1922, Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville has undergone a number of renovations, and it appears more are coming this offseason.

In an open letter to Vanderbilt students, athletes and fans on VUCommodores.com, new AD Malcolm Turner announced several renovation plans for the aging stadium.

As you can read below, Turner said one of the big renovations will be removing the south end zone video board and making the one in the north end zone bigger and better:

While we have very clear and obvious limitations to the current structure of Vanderbilt Stadium, we are considering any and all interim options to improve the gameday experience. Beyond what we can feasibly address for this upcoming season, we will continue to explore additional opportunities to enhance the experience until a longer-term plan and solution is developed. To put it bluntly, we have some work to do to provide the first-class experience we all desire.

Nonetheless, we’ve been listening to our loyal fans and will soon be making additional enhancements to improve the current experience. For example, the videoboard in the south end zone of Vanderbilt Stadium will be removed, and the videoboard in the north end zone will be replaced with a cutting-edge board with a sharper and brighter image. Saturdays at Vanderbilt Stadium will be bolstered by a partnership with Tailgate Guys, a market-leading hospitality firm. And much-needed restroom renovations soon will be underway in addition to the implementation of a new wayfaring signage package to more efficiently direct and inform game attendees in and around the stadium.

It’s unclear when the renovations will be complete, but it does sound like they’ll improve the stadium experience.
