The 2019 season is rapidly approaching, and that means the speculation about who will win the Heisman Trophy is about to heat up.

Right now, the favorites for the award are Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa and Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence. However, preseason favorites rarely end up winning the award, so we’ll see if either of those talented quarterbacks can make it to New York.

This week, Sports Illustrated writers picked their sleepers for the award, and three other SEC stars were mentioned:

  • Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia
  • Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
  • Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M

It will be tough for Jeudy to win, since he theoretically will catch most of his passes and touchdowns from Tagovailoa. Mond has a brutal schedule, but if the Aggies upset some top teams, he could certainly be in the mix.

Meanwhile, Fromm leads a strong Georgia team, so if his stats take another leap forward, he could definitely be a contender.
