The SEC announced its full 2020 football schedule on Wednesday afternoon, and there were some interesting notes.

One of the more-interesting things to come out of the schedule release was seeing the date of the annual Auburn-Georgia game.

Per the new schedule, the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry will be played on the second weekend of October (Saturday, Oct. 10) instead of late-November where it is currently scheduled.

This allows the Tigers to have more of a break between the Georgia and Alabama rivalry games, which is something Auburn has expressed interest in.

For Georgia, it means the annual Tennessee rivalry game will be pushed back later in the season. That allows the Dawgs to play what could be a meaningful SEC East game later in the season.

Will this new date be popular among fans? We’ll find out next fall.
