Joe Burrow continued to show why he should be mentioned in the Heisman Trophy talk with a big game against No. 7 Florida on Saturday, completing 21-of-24 passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns as LSU took down the Gators 42-28 in Tiger Stadium. For his efforts, Burrow has been named the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

The Ohio State transfer now has six wins against top 10 teams as the starting quarterback for the Tigers, the most in school history.

He shares the honor with Kentucky’s Lynn Bowden who, making his first collegiate start at quarterback against Arkansas on Saturday night, put the Wildcats on his shoulders, accounting for 274 total yards and three touchdowns in the 24-20 win. Usually lining up at wide receiver, Bowden was called into action behind center due to the Wildcats being short on quarterbacks. He threw the ball just 11 times, completing seven of the attempts for 78 and a touchdown, but used his legs to rush for 196 yards and two touchdowns.

In the biggest upset of the day, South Carolina defensive back Israel Mukaumu made his mark, intercepting Georgia’s Jake Fromm three separate times, including returning one 53 yards for a touchdown to help lead the Gamecocks to a 20-17 win in double overtime. He became the first Gamecock player to have three interceptions in a game since 1988 and was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week.

Mukaumu’s teammate, Javon Kinlaw, was just as interruptive for the Gamecocks. Kinlaw earned SEC Defensive Line Player of the Week after recording four tackles and sack for South Carolina in the upset win.

There might not have been a bigger interception than the one by LSU’s Derek Stingley in the win against Florida. The SEC Freshman of the Week picked off Kyle Trask’s throw in the end zone with the Tigers holding onto a 35-28 lead against the Gators.

Helping Missouri rack up 562 yards of offense in a 38-27 win over Ole Miss on Saturday was left tackle, Yasir Durant. He shares the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week award with Tennessee left guard Trey Smith, who helped the Volunteers to 190 yards on the ground in a 20-10 victory over Mississippi State.

Jaylen Waddle made his impact for Alabama on special teams in the rout of Texas A&M, returning four punts for 128 yards, continually giving the Crimson Tide good field position. The wide receiver/punt returner earned the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week, finishing with 176 total yards for the Tide.
