We’re back for another week of Chris’ College Hoops Betting Journal. As the resident SDS gambling expert (see: degenerate), I am here to give y’all some weekly betting advice for the SEC hoops season thanks to our good friends at BetOnline.

We’re getting oh, so close to March and things have started to shake out in the SEC. Mississippi State and Alabama played Tuesday for what might have been a de facto play-in game for the tourney, Auburn, stayed undefeated at home, and it looks like Kentucky is hitting its stride once again as we near the final month of the college basketball season.

Now is the perfect time to start building your bankroll for March Madness with BetOnline. To help get you started, here are my 5 favorite betting stats and trends to know for games starting Feb. 26:

  1. South Carolina (-5) vs UGA: South Carolina is 5-0 ATS in its past 5 games vs UGA, and won their previous meeting this season by 16 points.
  2. Arkansas (-4.5) vs. Tennessee: The over has hit in 10 of Arkansas’ past 11 games overall and has also hit in their past 6 games at home and last game vs. Tennessee. The over for tonight’s game is only 135.5.
  3. Vandy vs. Mizzou (-2.5): Vandy is the worst team in the SEC, but the Dores are 6-2 ATS in their past 8 games vs. SEC opponents. Mizzou is 2-7-1 ATS in away games and 1-9 overall away from home.
  4. Florida (-5) vs. LSU: LSU is just 4-10 ATS in its past 14 games vs. SEC opponents, and just 1-5 ATS in its past 6 vs. Florida.
  5. Florida (-5) vs. LSU: The over has cashed in 9 of LSU’s past 10 games overall, and in 6 of its past 7 vs. Florida. The over/under for tonight’s game is 148.

As always, make sure to get in the college hoops action over at BetOnline!
