The Atlanta Falcons continue to have SEC fever.

After adding former South Carolina TE Hayden Hurst, former Georgia RB Todd Gurley and former Florida defender Dante Fowler Jr., the Falcons have decided to bring another former SEC standout back down south: former Ole Miss WR Laquon Treadwell. The news was first reported by Zach Klein of Atlanta’s WSB and later confirmed by the club.

Treadwell’s NFL career has not gone as planned. The Ole Miss standout opted to forego his final eligibility and enter the 2016 NFL Draft and was selected in the first round by the Minnesota Vikings with the 23rd pick. In four seasons with the Vikings, Treadwell has regularly played (appearing in 53 games) but has started just 16 of those contests. Treadwell has logged 65 receptions for 701 yards and 2 touchdowns over those four years. Last year, Minnesota released Treadwell on Aug. 31 but re-signed him on Sept. 24.

The Falcons are certainly hoping that a change of scenery gets Treadwell to playing like he did at Ole Miss, where he earned first-team All-SEC recognition as a junior in 2015.
