The first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2020 season have just been released during a Tuesday evening reveal show on ESPN.

To no one’s surprise, Alabama ranks as the Playoff committee’s No. 1 team in the debut College Football Playoff rankings.

Outside of the Crimson Tide, the Southeastern Conference has two additional contenders to make the College Football Playoff as Texas A&M and Florida rank just outside the top four spots in the initial rankings.

In total, the SEC has five teams ranked in the debut College Football Playoff ranking.

This season’s Playoff Semifinals are set to take place Friday, January 1, 2021, at the Rose Bowl Game and the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

The College Football Playoff National Championship is set to be played Monday, January 11, 2021, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
