It’s almost time for the greatest show on dirt.

The 2021 College World Series is set to begin Saturday in Omaha. Three teams from the SEC – Mississippi State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt – are joined by Arizona, NC State, Stanford, Texas and Virginia to make up the eight-team field.

Ahead of the first pitch at TD Ameritrade Park, FanDuel Sportsbook has set betting odds for which team will win it all. Defending national champion Vanderbilt leads the way at +240. The Commodores won the title in 2019. Due to COVID, the 2020 college baseball season was shut down before the start of the NCAA Tournament and there was no College World Series.

  • Vanderbilt +240
  • Texas +380
  • Tennessee +420
  • Mississippi State +750
  • Arizona +750
  • Stanford +1000
  • Virginia +1200
  • NC State +1200

Texas is the highest-seed of the eight teams with the No. 2 national seed. No. 1 national seed Arkansas was upset by NC State in the Super Regional round.

Tennessee is the No. 3 national seed, ahead of Vanderbilt at No. 4. The Vandy Boys, though, have a dominant 1-2 punch of starting pitching with star hurlers Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter. Pitching is often the key to winning in the postseason, so it’s not too surprising to see the Dores as the betting favorites.

NC State and Stanford get things started at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday. Arizona and Vanderbilt also play Saturday at 7 p.m. ET while the other side of the bracket starts play on Sunday.
