On Monday, Texas and Oklahoma took the first step toward joining the SEC — informing the Big 12 they plan to leave when the current media rights deal is up.

Now, as we wait for the schools to take the second step — receiving an invitation from the SEC and officially applying to join the conference — things are reportedly happening behind the scenes.

Things are happening quickly when it comes to the realignment in college football.
