Vanderbilt started the day with 19 players committed in the class of 2022. As of Monday night, however, the Commodores are down to 17 pledges.

Dorian Gates became the second player to announce his decommitment from VU on Monday. From Spring, Texas, Gates committed to Vanderbilt back on May 13. Out of Kelin Oak, Gates is listed at 6-4, 200 pounds and rated 3-stars, the No. 47 edge rusher, No. 165 Texas product and No. 1,155 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite.

Gates’ recruiting profile shows he also has scholarship offers from Toledo, Tulane and UTSA.

Earlier Monday, a Florida linebacker decommitted from the Dores.
