Cole Cubelic tweets takeaways for each SEC team following Week 7 action
Cole Cubelic was on the sidelines for Saturday night’s exciting game between Tennessee and Ole Miss.
The SEC Network analyst then got up on Sunday morning and shared his thoughts on each SEC team, as he does every week.
From Alabama to Vanderbilt, all 14 squads were in action on Saturday, and all were involved in SEC showdowns.
Here are Cubelic’s thoughts about each team this Sunday morning:
ARKANSAS: Felt like the offense literally did everything but finish in red zone. Weird game. Defensive issues with explosives. Too many over the top. Have to wonder where their legs are at this point, just a ton of snaps. Beat up but still have a chance to build on a positive yr

FLORIDA: Inexplicable for the defense to allow a run play with mild variations to do what it did to a team decimated by injuries. Offense too inconsistent & protecting the ball an issue.Explosives saved them. Not the same OL we saw earlier this season. QB juggling may be over.

KENTUCKY: Needed to creat big plays. Could not do it. Struggled to get run going & the offense builds off that. Showed lots of fight & grit. Levis was solid. Need someone opposite 1 to take attention. The table is set to put together a very special season. How will they respond?

MISSISSIPPI STATE: Offense had so much momentum coming in & could not find it. QB pressed a little. Had some run looks they did not take. Turnovers just a killer. Defense stayed attacking & needed to get home earlier, that led to some massive plays. Still room to finish strong.

OLE MISS: Wild game. Wild scene. 2 was just incredible. You can see his growth by holding back on throws he obviously would have attempted last year. He was the run game. With a beat up group they still moved it enough to get a tough road W. Defense did get two stops late…

TENNESSEE: Amazing atmosphere that won't get its due because of a limited amount of folks late. Impressed with the fight. The DL was solid, secondary better than I expected. They really did make life hard on that offense. Just didn't have answers for QB run. Need QB run to go.

VANDERBILT: Just a gut punch of a loss. BUT they are fighting, building. It was one they could have had & it will string. But with a backup QB on the road it was an impressive performance. Sheppard big time. Took the ball away. Just have to learn how to finish games.

Several teams are off in Week 8, including Georgia and Florida. There are only 5 games involving SEC squads on the Week 8 slate, so things will be a bit slow next weekend.
