Clark Lea details sickness moving through Vanderbilt, updates QB situation
Clark Lea said about 12 Commodores had the flu this week, and given the injury to Ken Seals, he couldn’t say which quarterback would start next week.
Lea spoke with reporters after a 34-17 loss to Kentucky on Saturday. After Kentucky built a 31-3 lead at halftime, Vanderbilt held UK to 3 points in the second half, as the Commodores inserted Mike Wright to play the second half after the injury to Seals.
The Commodores fell to 2-8 overall, and will play Ole Miss next week.

Clark Lea says they had a big cohort of players that came down with the flu this week – including wide receiver Will Sheppard.
Lea says he was available tonight but didn’t feel like it was fair to him to throw him out there without a full week of practice.

Lea said 10-12 players had the flu (two players with symptoms but no positive test) and it affected the secondary a lot. Said two players didn’t dress because of the flu but didn’t want to name names

Clark Lea: Ken Seals earned the starting job out of fall camp and had a good week of practice. Ken got hurt in the first half of this game and so we need to get a feel for the extent of that injury. I don’t feel a need to project who the starter is right now.
