The Big 12 will soon transition from Bob Bowlsby as its commissioner to someone new, and the league has an interesting candidate in mind.

Per a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel and others, Roc Nation executive Brett Yormark is the frontrunner for the position moving forward.

Yormark has also served as an executive for the Brooklyn Nets in his past, according to Thamel:

Hiring someone with experience on the agent side of things seems to indicate the Big 12 will lean on its commissioner to navigate issues involving NIL money in college athletics.

Will we see more leagues looking to sports agencies for positions at the highest levels of the executive structure? We’ll see what happens over the next few years.
