Colton Vasek, an Austin native, is taking his talents to Oklahoma. The blue-chip edge defender committed to the Sooners over Texas and 36 other scholarship offers.

Vasek, a Texas legacy who plays for Westlake High School, announced his college commitment on Monday via his Twitter account.

Vasek is listed at over 6-5, and 225 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Vasek is rated 4-stars, the No. 19 edge defender, No. 29 Lone Star State recruit and No. 153 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2023. Brian Vasek, Colton’s father, was a Texas defensive end from 1991-to-1995.

Vasek has picked up scholarship offers from 38 schools during his recruitment. In June, he visited Oklahoma (June 10), Clemson (June 3), Oregon (June 17), Texas (June 14) and Texas Tech (June 24).
