A Utah student has been arrested after threatening to detonate the nuclear reactor on campus if the Utes did not beat San Diego State in Week 3.

According to Pat Reavy of KSL.com, the 21-year-old woman made threatening posts on a community discussion app:

The woman “posted threats of violence” on the Yik Yak app before the game, stating that “if the football team did not win the game, (she) was going to detonate the nuclear reactor that is located in the University of Utah causing a mass destruction,” according to a police booking affidavit.

Police note in their affidavit that the student does have knowledge of the nuclear reactor and “is aware of where the reactor is located and attends class in the same building where the reactor is housed.”

Utah won Saturday’s home game against SDSU 35-7. As the student learned, though, that kind of post will get you in trouble even if you don’t carry out the threat.

This isn’t the first time this season that Utah fans have made national headlines. Earlier this month, 2 women were accused of attending a Utes game topless, wearing nothing but body paint above the waist.
