Scott Frost has to wait a little longer to have his official Nebraska homecoming.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers’ game was canceled because of rain and lightning in the area on Saturday. It can be difficult to put the threatening weather into context because football has certainly been played in the rain before.

There have also been games in snow, mud, and ridiculously hot triple-digit temperatures. So why can’t Nebraska take a little rain?

Umm… the photo below probably played a part:

The most absurd thing about it is nobody seems concerned for their own safety or plans on moving any time soon because of the lightning. They all want to see their next head coach and were holding out hope they might get the chance.

After three hours, players, coaches and fans gave up hope to play through it and the game was officially canceled. Nebraska opens its season next weekend against Colorado.
