SEC teams know a thing or two about recruiting and developing talented running backs.

Athlon Sports recently named its top 50 running back units and the SEC is well-represented on the list with 11 teams making the cut. Every conference team except LSU, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt is featured in the top 50.

In what should come as no surprise, Alabama leads all teams at No. 1 overall. The Crimson Tide returns in Damien Harris in his bid for a third 1,000-yard season. Sophomore RB Najee Harris, the top recruit of 2017, is also expected to feature heavily in UA’s ground game.

But the weapons don’t stop there.

“Brian Robinson and Josh Jacobs are both capable of being the top ball carrier at almost every other program,” Athlon Sports’ Steve Lassan writes.

Here’s where the other 10 conference teams rank on the list.

  • No. 7: Georgia
  • No. 16: Mississippi State
  • No. 19: Florida
  • No. 22: Missouri
  • No. 25: Kentucky
  • No. 26 Auburn
  • No. 31: Arkansas
  • No. 39: South Carolina
  • No. 43: Texas A&M
  • No. 44: Tennessee
