Reaching into the junior college ranks for immediate help has been more bust than boom in recent recruiting cycles but that’s not going to stop college programs from across the nation from recruiting players they believe are poised to make contributions from Day One.

While it’s accurate to say you never know quite what you are getting from junior college athletes when they make the jump up to Division 1 football, 247Sports does its best to evaluate and rank these players on an annual basis. On Tuesday, the site released its first 2019 junior college prospect rankings and several SEC commits and targets made the list.

Here’s a rundown of some of the more touted prospects on the list:

  • East Mississippi CC defensive lineman, Darel Middleton, #20 overall — Tennessee commit
  • Highland CC defensive lineman, Jahkeem Green, #25 overall — South Carolina commit
  • Jones County JC athlete, Marquez Bembry, #33 overall — Kentucky commit
  • Jones County JC cornerback, Jamar Richardson, #35 overall — Ole Miss commit
