When the calendar flips over to November, the SEC schedule really gets meaty, with lots of big rivalry games and important non-conference battles.

However, that doesn’t mean we should completely forget about October, as there are still plenty of big-time matchups on the schedule the next four weeks.

Here’s a look at the five best SEC games on the docket for the coming month:

5. South Carolina at Tennessee — Oct. 14

On paper, this doesn’t look like the greatest matchup, but it could be argued that this is a must-win game for Tennessee coach Butch Jones.

Coming off a bye following an embarrassing 41-0 home loss to Georgia, the embattled coach can’t afford to suffer another setback like that at home.

4. LSU at Florida — Oct. 7

These two teams have plenty of reasons to hate each other, so this year’s Florida homecoming game should be a hotly contested one.

If LSU coach Ed Orgeron can’t get his team motivated to play for this game, there will be some serious questions that need to be answered in LSU.

3. Texas A&M at Florida — Oct. 14

Both of these teams looked lost in Week 1, and both have had their fair share of struggles this year.

Now, though, the Gators and Aggies have righted the ship and appear to be contenders for big bowl games this postseason.

The Aggies will be coming off a tough home game against No. 1 Alabama, while the Gators will have just hosted LSU, so this matchup could be an interesting one in the SEC standings.

2. Auburn at Arkansas — Oct. 21

This has all the makings of a classic trap game for the Tigers, who will be coming off what should be a tough road game at LSU and will be looking forward to a bye the next week.

If the Tigers can take care of business against LSU the previous week, a win in Fayetteville would signal that this Auburn team is a team to be reckoned with.

1. Florida vs. Georgia (in Jacksonville) — Oct. 28

Already, this game is looking like the de-facto SEC East title game, as the winner will likely be moving on to the SEC Championship Game.

The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party is going to be even more important than usual this year, as there’s a good chance both squads will be undefeated in SEC play when the final weekend of October rolls around.
