The subscribers of Reddit’s /r/CFB were in for a special Friday as former LSU coach turned actor Les Miles took part in an “Ask Me Anything” with the community of college football fans.

As you can imagine, users had no shortage of questions for The Mad Hatter. Here are the five best exchanges from his AMA:

Question: Would you be interested in joining the College Gameday crew when/if Lee Corso retires?

Miles: That would be a great opportunity to be close to the game that I love. But it’s Lee Corso and I would encourage him to stay as long as he can because he is key to that Gameday crew.

So that’s all to say, I think Lee’s a crucial part of the culture of college football. The game is better with his voice involved. And he’s a dear friend. I think what he does is tremendous, and that would be a damn hard act to follow.

Question: What did [then-Arkansas head coach] Bobby Petrino have to say after the Arkansas game in 2011?

Miles: Hahaha!

We didn’t exchange pleasantries. The length of the handshake was contained. And we separated quickly. I’ll leave it at that.

Question: What’s your favorite away stadium?

Miles: My favorite away stadium would be Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. That place was so loud, it was moving. What a venue. I got so sick of hearing Rocky Top.

Alabama also got really loud during those night games.

Another away experience I loved was Nebraska. I was an assistant coach on Bill McCartney’s Colorado team when we played there. Those fans were so nice, I remember one lady telling me before the game, “Young fella, have a great day.” You don’t really hear that a lot as an away team. You’re more likely to hear “Fall on a dagger and bleed everywhere”

Question: What’s your favorite trick play that you haven’t run in a game?

Miles: Doesn’t seem too wise to divulge a play I haven’t run yet…

Question: Which teams are you watching most closely right now? Are there any teams you think might positively surprise people by the end of the season?

Miles: The teams I see that can make a run at this thing (outside of Bama of course) is pretty simple: LSU. Joe Burrow, if he can move his feet the way he did against Georgia, if he can throw the way he did they are going to be good. If he can do those things against Alabama they have a great shot. They got a quarterback who can throw and run, they can comfortably compete for a national championship.

The next best team that may be able to get in there, I don’t think this will surprise anyone but Clemson. I don’t think that Clemson is as talented as the teams they’ve had the past couple of years but I think that they have the resources and experience to compete for the playoffs and win a national championship.
