Now that the regular season is over, All-American teams are starting to be announced, and it’s no surprise SEC players are receiving some top honors.

On Monday, USA TODAY announced its first and second team All-American squads, and seven SEC players were honored.

The full list of players honored can be found here, but the SEC players to receive recognition are listed below:

First team:

  • Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
  • Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama

Second team:

  • Braden Smith, OL, Auburn
  • Frank Ragnow, OL, Arkansas
  • Devin White, LB, LSU
  • Johnny Townsend, P, Florida
  • Daniel Carlson, K, Auburn

These players — particularly Smith and Fitzpatrick — have been mentioned among the nation’s best players all year long, so it’s no surprise to see them make the USA TODAY squads.

Both Smith and Fitzpatrick will likely be first-round picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, too, so a good few months are likely just getting started for that talented duo.
