The regular season is over, so as we wait for bowl season to start, major media outlets are releasing their 2017 All-American teams.

On Tuesday, CBS Sports revealed its first- and second-team All-Americans, and eight SEC players were honored — five on the first team and three on the second team.

As you can see below, Auburn led the way with three honorees, followed by Florida with two. Alabama, Georgia and Arkansas also had players make the cut:

First team:

  • Frank Ragnow, C, Arkansas
  • Braden Smith, OL, Auburn
  • Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
  • Minkah Fitzpatrick, S, Alabama
  • Daniel Carlson, K, Auburn

Second team:

  • Jeff Holland, LB, Auburn
  • Duke Dawson, CB, Florida
  • Johnny Townsend, P, Florida

Duke Dawson is an interesting selection, and one who hasn’t been on many All-American lists this year. He had a strong year, certainly, but the Gators as a whole struggled.

Roquan Smith and Minkah Fitzpatrick, meanwhile, continue to pile up the first-team honors, and it is well-deserved for their fantastic seasons.
