Last year, two freshman quarterbacks squared off in the National Championship Game, as Tua Tagovailoa took over for Jalen Hurts halfway through the game to lead Alabama to a win over Jake Fromm and the Georgia Bulldogs.

With so many freshmen ready to contribute right away, it is worth wondering which players in this year’s freshman quarterback crop will make an impact in 2018.

According to Athlon Sports, Georgia’s Justin Fields and Florida’s Emory Jones are the young players to watch from the SEC this coming fall.

Also receiving a mention was Arkansas’s Connor Noland. It’s worth noting that Jones may be the only quarterback of the three to start right away, but that doesn’t matter — just ask Jacob Eason.

How each of these three athletes fare next year remains to be seen, but it should be fun to watch.
