As the 2018 season inches closer, we’ll start to get a better idea of which players will earn bigger roles for their teams this fall.

With so many talented SEC running backs heading off to the NFL this offseason, there are going to need to be some new runners who step up.

Recently, Athlon Sports named 30 running backs around the country who could have breakout seasons. As you can see below, six SEC runners made the cut:

  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU
  • Kam Martin, Auburn
  • Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Vanderbilt
  • Ty Chandler, Tennessee
  • Najee Harris, Alabama
  • D’Andre Swift, Georgia

Obviously, Swift is already a big name, and some of the other guys on the list are known and loved by their fanbases, but this fall could bring them national attention.

After losing guys like Derrius Guice, Bo Scarbrough, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, John Kelly, Kerryon Johnson and more to the NFL, it’ll be fun to watch the new class of SEC running backs step up.
