The Georgia Bulldogs have jumped atop ESPN’s Football Power Index Top 25 rankings.

UGA jumped both Ohio State and Alabama to claim the No. 1 ranking after destroying South Carolina 48-7. Through 3 games, Georgia has outscored opponents 130-10. Oregon kicked a field goal, and South Carolina managed to score a touchdown with under 1 minute left in Saturday’s game against the Bulldogs No. 2 defense.

Alabama fell from the top spot to No. 2. The Tide, Ohio State, Michigan and Clemson rounded out the top 5.

Specifically in the SEC, 6 teams were ranked in the updated top 25, with Ole Miss and Tennessee inside the top 10. LSU and Mississippi State were ranked No. 12 and 18 respectively.

USC (3-0) being ranked outside the top 10 is quite surprising. Notre Dame (1-2) making the rankings at No. 25 is also head-scratching. Kentucky (3-0 and ranked in the AP Top 25 top 10) is ranked No. 26.
