ESPN’s FPI sees one team coming out on top in the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving Day.

Ole Miss and Mississippi State meet once again as hated rivals.

Ole Miss beat UL Monroe in its last game 35-3. If the Rebels win on Thursday, it would Lane Kiffin’s first 10-win season since 2021. Ole Miss would love to avenge last season’s loss. Mississippi State won last year because of a failed 2-point conversion by Ole Miss with no time on the clock.

Mississippi State will be led by Greg Knox this time around. Zach Arnett was fired after losing to Texas A&M 51-10. Knox beat Southern Miss in his debut 41-20.

Will Rogers and Jo’Quavious Marks returned from injury and should both be playing in the Egg Bowl too. If the Bulldogs win, they’ll go to a bowl game.

The FPI thinks that Ole Miss will win the Egg Bowl in 2023, giving the Rebels an 82.2% chance to win. Mississippi State has a 17.8% chance to pull off the upset.

There’s a lot on the line for both teams heading into the matchup. It hasn’t been any easy season for the Bulldogs, but things could end on a high note with a win over Ole Miss. Ole Miss has a chance at an 11-win season with a victory.

Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thanksgiving.
