Just when you think you’ve seen it all in recruiting, a unique twist could be waiting around the corner.

The latest odd recruiting story comes via a junior college prospect that may or may even not exist named Unique Brissett. The “receiver” from Globe Institute of Technology, even the name of the school seems fishy, tweeted out his list of Top 8 over the weekend. Brissett had narrowed his choices down to some good programs including Miami Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Kentucky from the SEC.

Judging by his impressive highlight reel, it’s no wonder so many schools would have an interest in him. The highlight features breakaway speed and big play ability that any college offense would be thrilled to have on its side. Pretty impressive for a sophomore from a tiny junior college to have such a lengthy and well-shot highlight video if you think about it.

A few outlets even ran with the story of Brissett’s top list of schools:

But then things started to get weird. Brissett’s tweets from his “visit” to Michigan State looked a little too familiar to the pictures offensive line recruit Cody Carone tweeted out previously during his visit to East Lansing. Two of the pictures are identical.

Soon after this tweet, Andrew Ivins of Inside the U reported that Miami and Kentucky coaches had never heard of Unique Brissett and were not recruiting him. Ivins then announced the highlight reel was from another prospect who is currently committed to a Power 5 school — the footage does not belong to Brissett.

The original Twitter account for Brissett has since been deleted. Where this story goes next is anyone’s best guess but just keep this story in mind when thinking of the weirdest college football recruiting stories. It certainly is unique, even in today’s world of college football recruiting.
