Greg McElroy included Miami-Texas A&M, Penn State-Auburn and Mississippi-LSU in his weekend YouTube show previewing the five biggest college games of the weekend.

In talking about the Aggies and the Hurricanes, McElroy concedes the game lost some shine after Texas A&M’s 17-14 loss to Appalachian State last weekend.

“This game lost a little buzz,” McElroy said. “But maybe it creating a little bit of intrigue too because of Texas A&M’s performance last weekend.”

McElroy credits Miami’s ability to control the clock and believes they will take some shots downfield with quarterback Tyler Van Dyke against an aggressive defense.

The former Alabama quarterback isn’t as optimistic about Texas A&M starting quarterback Haynes King. McElroy believes that if King struggles early there will be a quick hook for Max Johnson.

“I’ve been pretty concerned about Haynes King’s accuracy going against man coverage. Miami is a man coverage team at their core…so far Haynes King has completed just 56 percent of his passes with three interceptions in his career against man coverage.”

With the Penn State-Auburn game, McElroy sees it as a battle of strength on strength with Penn State’s running game against Auburn’s front four.

“I love Auburn’s defensive front,” McElroy added. “There’s a lot of things I don’t loive about Auburn, but I love their defensive front.”

McElroy calls Penn State’s running back freshmen duo of Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen as one of the best emerging 1-2 running back combinations in the country.

Later in the video McElroy reviews the Mississippi State-LSU contest, the game he will be on the call for this weekend at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.
