How they voted: Best, worst ranking for SEC teams in AP Top 25 poll
When the preseason AP Poll came out on Monday, six SEC teams made the cut in the top 25.
There are 62 AP voters, and they all have different opinions on teams around the country, not just in the SEC.
Thanks to the folks at CollegePollTracker.com, we know how all of them voted. Here are some interesting notes for each of the six ranked SEC squads:
Alabama
Actual ranking: No. 2
Highest ranking: No. 1
Lowest ranking: No. 3
Of note: The Crimson Tide were only No. 3 in two polls — those belonging to Brett McMurphy and Dave Reardon.
Georgia
Actual ranking: No. 3
Highest ranking: No. 2
Lowest ranking: No. 7
Of note: The Bulldogs received second-place votes in the two polls that had Alabama at No. 3 (McMurphy and Reardon). Kirk Bohls has the Dawgs down at No. 7.
LSU
Actual ranking: No. 6
Highest ranking: No. 3
Lowest ranking: No. 12
Of note: Matt Brown is high on the Tigers, putting them at No. 3. Robert Cessna isn’t, putting the Tigers at No. 12.
Florida
Actual ranking: No. 8
Highest ranking: No. 3
Lowest ranking: No. 16
Of note: Mark Whicker has the Gators at No. 3. No one else has them higher than No. 5.
Texas A&M
Actual ranking: No. 12
Highest ranking: No. 6
Lowest ranking: No. 25
Of note: The Aggies got two No. 6 votes, but Jon Wilner is really low on Jimbo Fisher’s crew. He had them at No. 25, while no one else had them lower than No. 18.
Auburn
Actual ranking: No. 16
Highest ranking: No. 8
Lowest ranking: Unranked
Of note: The Tigers were unranked on six different polls. They also received two eighth-place votes.
