Jerry Palm of CBS Sports released his updated College Football Playoff field following No. 7 Texas’s win over No. 18 Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship and No. 8 Alabama’s win over No. 1 Georgia in the SEC Championship.

Palm now has Michigan as the No. 1 seed in the CFP, with Washington moving from No. 3 to No. 2 by virtue of its Pac-12 Championship triumph over No. 5 Oregon. Florida State is slated as No. 3, while Texas moves up to No. 4 in Palm’s rankings. That would set up a Michigan-Texas/Washington/Florida State semifinal pairing, and would see both Georgia and Alabama shut out of the Playoff (and the SEC out of the field for the 1st time ever).

Palm’s projections came before the B1G and ACC Championships, so there’s a chance things could change.

While Michigan is heavily favored over Iowa — and was up 10-0 with a quarter in the books in Indianapolis — Florida State and Louisville has proven interesting with true freshman Brock Glenn behind center for the Seminoles with both Jordan Travis and Tate Rodemaker injured. That game was scoreless after a quarter of play in Charlotte.
