There are a couple of NFL head coaching openings (Cleveland, Green Bay) and more that could come soon.

One name that is usually connected to these openings is Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, who had great success as the San Francisco 49ers coach a few years ago.

However, Harbaugh insists he isn’t going anywhere. In fact, Harbaugh told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the rumors are just a way for Michigan’s opponents to hurt the Wolverines before the early signing period:

“This is a choreographed message that comes up at this time every year before signing day,” Harbaugh told ESPN this weekend. “It’s people spreading messages to further their own personal agenda.

“But I’m on record right here, right now: I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying at Michigan. We have big plans here, and there’s a lot we want to accomplish.”

That’s a strong statement from Harbaugh, so now it would be shady if he left Ann Arbor.

There’s no reason to think he’s going anywhere, though, so his message to ESPN is a believable one.
